For #DrinkUpBoston, we’re issuing a challenge to all the coffee-crazed Bostonians out there. Our team has created a coffee crawl map because why should pubs have all the fun?

To make this java journey doable, we’re sticking to recommendations in Downtown Boston and the North End. Here are the five locations on the official BOStoday Coffee Crawl.

Gracenote Coffee, 108 Lincoln St.

The local coffee roaster’s small but mighty espresso bar serves tea, nitro cold brew + coffee beans in addition to a variety of espresso drinks. We grabbed an iced latte to get our adventure started.

Kohi Coffee Company, 125 Summer St.

Just inside the lobby at 125 Summer St. (by the end of the Greenway), you’ll find espresso, coffee, and baked goods. We grabbed a simple hot black coffee at our second stop. Pro tip: you can order at the walk-up window or online to save some time.

George Howell Coffee, 505 Washington St.

Did you know that George Howell came up with the original frappuccino recipe and sold it to Starbucks? Naturally, we had to order “The Original” here for a sweet frozen treat — the Massachusetts-based shop also serves a coffee sangria + coffee kombucha.

Ogawa Coffee, 10 Milk St.

You might recognize Ogawa’s latte art from your Instagram feed, and this is one of City Editor Sara’s all-time favorite coffee spots. We tried the special espresso tonic (warning: this is one of the stronger drinks available) and a Vietnamese iced coffee.

Caffe Vittoria, 290-296 Hanover St.

End your crawl at this traditional North End cafe — we particularly recommend an espresso affogato or cappuccino. Pro tip: bring cash, since like most spots in this neighborhood, the cafe is cash-only.
