This month, Mayor Wu and city of Boston officials will celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month with the first annual City of Belonging festival.

The first citywide celebration will feature 50+ community-led events to shine a light on global art and culture through music, dance, performance, and community-building.

This initiative will kick off the work from the leadership of the immigrant community at the 1st Annual Immigrant Advancement Forum, scheduled this fall 2024, and will lead to Boston becoming a Welcoming Certified city in 2025.

Beyond the festival, city officials will partner with over 30 diverse organizations to host free events for residents throughout the month of June. Events include:

  • Cultural celebrations
  • Concerts and performances
  • Food and film festivals
  • Block parties
  • Storytelling events
  • Activism workshops

Check out the full list of events and programming, which are all open to the public.

The City of Belonging festival will conclude with “Belong in Boston,” a special Sofar Sounds concert featuring global acts on Saturday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. in downtown. Stay tuned for more details about the venue and performers closer to the date.
