Situated on the waterfront of the Boston Harbor, East Boston is a unique neighborhood with strong ties to the city’s immigrant community. The 9th annual Eastie Week, happening from Sun., July 10 to Tues., July 26, will celebrate the rich, vibrant, and resilient population of East Boston with 60+ events — ranging from gardening lessons to live music — hosted by various East Boston organizations and partners. Bonus: All events are free or low-cost, so more of the community can participate in the celebration.

Here are some can’t-miss events during this year’s Eastie Week:

Eastie Week 2022 Kickoff

Enjoy a kick-off party for Eastie Week at Piers Park, followed by a free summer concert, sponsored by Zumix, ft. Eastie’s own Don’t Be Denied Band. 🎶

  • Where: Piers Park (in between Downeast Cider and Tall Ship)

Maverick Makers Pro “Make a Journal” Community Workshop

Learn from teens how to make a journal from scratch. Bring your own design or get inspired by one created by youth participants. This workshop is open to all ages. ✍️

  • When: Mon., July 11 from 12- 2 p.m.
  • Where: MLCS Makerspace, 31 Liverpool St.
  • Cost: Free

Garden Harvest Party at Eastie Farm

Head to Our Garden to work on planting, site maintenance, and harvesting. 🍅

VROCC Annual Sounds Around Town

Find Veronica Robles Mariachi + friends on the Musical Float bringing music to the streets of Eastie. 🎶

East Boston Community Cruise

Enjoy a sunset cruise around Boston Harbor with East Boston community members, ft. live music + food from Sammy Carlo’s. 🌅

  • Where: Airport Dock
  • Cost: Free (tickets required; visit East Boston Social Center to pick up tickets, subject to availability)

ReadBoston Storymobile

Audiences will be treated to an interactive storytelling experience, with every child getting a new book to take home. The program is best suited for kids ages 3-8. 📚

Cinemarina: An outdoor movie night

Grab your beach chairs and head down to the shipyard for a movie night overlooking the Boston skyline. Enjoy food trucks, vendors, ice cream + libations with the show. 🎥

Community Kayaking

Relax out on the water of the Piers Park cove. Bonus: No need to bring anything — kayaking equipment will be provided by Piers Park Sailing Center. 🌊

  • Where: Piers Park (in between Downeast Cider and Tall Ship)
  • Cost: $5

Save the Harbor/Save the Bay: Beach Bash

Families are invited to this beach party sponsored by Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, ft. performances by A Trike Called Funk, the Boston Circus Guild, sea shanties with David Coffin + more. ☀️

  • When: Wed., July 20 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Where: Constitution Beach (a quick walk from the Orient Heights MBTA Station on the Blue Line)
  • Cost: Free
