Intimate gatherings

Glass House, 450 Kendall St., Cambridge

  • Accommodates 60 seated, 125 standing guests
  • 6,500 sqft
  • Key features: The modern venue is located in the heart of Kendall Square’s Canal District and is nearby MIT and Harvard. It offers sliding glass doors, an outdoor patio overlooking the Charles River, and is located in the Whitney Hotel so guests can stay steps away.

Studio B, Big Night Live, Causeway Street

  • Accommodates 180 seated, 440 standing guests
  • 11,500 sqft
  • Key features: This venue located next to North Station boasts brick walls, over-sized geometric tiles, and proximity to the downtown concert venue Big Night Live.

Garage B at the Speedway, 1420 Soldiers Field Rd.

  • Accommodates 160 seated, 240 standing guests
  • 3,300 sqft
  • Key features: This Brighton industrial event space features five floor-to-ceiling glass garage doors that can be opened to expand to the courtyard.

Upstairs at Bow Market, 1 Bow Mkt Wy., Somerville

  • Accommodates 110 guests
  • Second floor venue
  • Key features: This Somerville private event space is tucked away on the second floor of Bow Market. It includes an outdoor balcony, a private bar, and an A/V-enabled main room.

SoWa Power Station — Mezzanine, 550 Harrison Ave.

  • Accommodates 126 seated guests
  • 4,000 sqft
  • Key features: This smaller area of the power station includes a bar, pendant lighting, and a brick rotunda.

Alden Castle, 20 Chapel St., Brookline

  • Accommodates 126 seated guests
  • 2,500-4,000 sqft
  • Key features: Find this venue inside a 1920s Tudor-style building. Don’t miss the Vintage Ballroom with white chandeliers, high ceilings, and a mezzanine that looks over the venue. There’s also the Modern Club, which features gold-leaf-adorned ceilings, gold chandeliers, and balcony access.

Multiple options

Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St.

  • Accommodates 50-330 seated guests
  • Multiple indoor and outdoor spaces available
  • Key features: There are multiple options at the Central Location of the BPL, including the McKim Courtyard, Bates Hall, and the Abbey Room, just to name a few — each with its own personality. Packages are available to help pair your guest list with the best floor plans.

SoWa Power Station, Main Floor, 530 Harrison Ave.

  • Accommodates up to 1,600 seated guests on the main floor
  • 25,000 sqft
  • Key features: This adapted property used to be a power generation plant — it now features 60-ft vaulted ceilings, 20-ft windows, original brick walls, and steel trusses.

City Winery, 80 Beverly St.

  • Accommodates up to 250 seated, 700 standing guests
  • Multiple rooms available
  • Key features: Enjoy vino before vows at this venue with in-house services include all food and beverage, a dedicated event staff, tables, and chairs.

Hampshire House, 84 Beacon St.

  • Accommodates 100 seated and 200 standing guests on the second floor; accomodates 60 seated and 100 standing guests on the first floor
  • 540-1,100 sqft
  • Key features: Hampshire House is located in the heart of Beacon Hill, overlooking the Boston Public Garden. It features two separate floors for private events and supplies a preferred vendor list.

Omni Hotel at the Seaport, 450 Summer St.

  • Accommodates up to 1,800 seated guests
  • 100,000 sqft
  • Key features: Located in the Seaport, this hotel has seven unique dining options to serve up something for every wedding guest.

Fairmont Copley Plaza, 138 St James Ave.

  • Accommodates up to 1,100 guests
  • 25,000 sqft
  • Key features: This Back Bay hotel offers a variety of event spaces, including a Grand Ballroom with balconies and gilded, 30-ft ceilings; the Oval Room with a blue sky mural on the ceiling; and the Venetian room with gold chandeliers and mirrors.

Four Seasons Hotel, One Dalton St.

  • Accommodates 50-500 guests
  • 650-4,300 sqft
  • Key features: This venue over looks the Public Garden and has eight room options to explore. The event team will help coordinate your event, offering many services and an extensive vendor list.

The Liberty Hotel, 215 Charles St.

  • Accommodates 180 seated, 200 standing guests
  • 450-3,000 sqft
  • Key features: Indoor and outdoor venue options are available at this historic hotel in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Each event will have a dedicated wedding specialist and customized food options.

Boston Harbor Hotel, 70 Rowes Wharf

  • Accommodates 50-300+ guests
  • 2,800-5,500 sqft
  • Key features: If you’re a Jimmy Choo fan, the shoe might just fit on this venue. Events booked on a Friday or Sunday will receive an exclusive after-hours consultation at the Jimmy Choo Boutique in Copley Place to pick out a complementary pair of wedding shoes.

New England Aquarium, 1 Central Wharf

  • Accommodates up to 250 guests
  • Indoor and outdoor spaces available
  • Key features: Your guests will remember the one-of-a-kind views at a waterfront wedding reception and get a peek at aquatic animals in the aquarium.

Venues outside of the city

  • Key features: The rental fee includes a educational tours for your guests, specific furniture and decor items, and individual rooms for the bride and groom throughout the event.

The Gardens at Elm Bank, 900 Washington St., Wellesley

  • Accommodates 230 seated and up to 400 guests with a tent
  • 3,000 sqft
  • Key features: This venue is located about 30 minutes outside of Boston and features 36 acres of exclusive space with ten gardens.

Smolak Farms, 315 S. Bradford St., North Andover

  • Accommodates 250 guests
  • Multiple spaces including apple orchard, outdoor tent, and barn.
  • Key features: This 300-year-old farm provides both indoor and outdoor options in a rural venue located ~25 minutes north of Boston.
