The Boston Symphony Orchestra is sparking excitement with details about its annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular.
The popular local tradition, which has been around since 1929, will return to the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade on Tuesday, July 4, from 8 to 11 p.m.
Here’s what to know about the free Fourth of July festivities:
- En Vogue is headlining the musical event, which will also feature Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez + country duo LOCASH. Of course, the Boston Pops will perform with conductor Keith Lockhart.
- The fireworks display over the Charles River begins at ~10:30 p.m., but you’ll want to arrive when the event gates open (12 p.m.) to secure a spot.
- Details about when Storrow Drive will be closed to vehicles are expected closer to the holiday. Keep an eye on this page for updates.
Pro tip: If you’re going to be out of town for the long weekend, tune in via TV or radio.
