It’s time to fill your fall foodie bucket list with these five newly opened eateries around town. Then, be sure to save some room for five spots coming soon.

Now Open

Tonino, 669a Centre St.
  • The Jamaica Plain Italian restaurant opened last week for dinner service with small bites and a range of pastas + pizzas.
Little Whale Oyster Bar, 314 Newbury St.
  • Visit the seafood spot for New England classics like clam chowder and lobster rolls.
The Wig Shop, 27 Temple Pl.
  • Get whimsical at the wig-themed cocktail lounge + restaurant downtown. The eclectic food menu has everything from beef skewers to lobster pancakes.
Bom Dough, 1271 Cambridge St., Cambridge
  • This casual Brazilian eatery offers up freshly baked buns + cheese bread.
Hot Chix, 1220 Cambridge St., Cambridge
  • Just down the street in Inman Square, this hot chicken joint started out as a pop-up and now has an expanded menu of sandwiches, sides + sweets.

Coming Soon

Comfort Kitchen, 611 Columbia Rd.
  • Expect a cafe by day + restaurant by night in Dorchester’s Upham’s Corner neighborhood, featuring flavors of the African diaspora (see previous pop-up menus).
Mei Mei, 58 Old Colony Ave.
  • The dumpling spot is moving from its Park Drive location to the Iron Works development in South Boston, with a January grand opening in the works.
Tenderoni’s, 1363 Boylston St.
  • Tiffani Faison’s pizza joint will take over her former Tiger Mama location next month. The 140-seat space at The Fenway will have two bars + a takeout window for slices to go.
Pescador, 500 Commonwealth Ave.
  • The coastal grill in Kenmore Square comes from the same owners of Blue Ribbon Sushi + will feature an 18-seat ceviche bar and 30-ft cocktail bar.
Johnny Pomodoro, 297 Main St.
  • Charlestown residents: get ready for modern Italian dishes like tray pies and garlic knots.

  • Five Iron Golf will open soon in downtown Boston. The golf simulator company is headed to a 15,000 sqft space between City Hall and the Old State House + will offer a full-service bar and food menu, shuffleboard courts, and arcade games. ⛳ (Boston Business Journal)
  • Sol Mexican Cocina is opening a location in Back Bay early next year. The Baja-inspired eatery is joining Jaho Coffee & Tea at 116 Huntington Ave. The 5,800 sqft space will have seating for 200 guests inside, plus a 30-seat patio. (Eater Boston)
Traffic
  • MassDOT plans to make the widened bike lanes along the Massachusetts Avenue bridge permanent, following a successful pilot program. The agency will paint new lanes, adjust traffic signals + install protective posts, which will also allow space for new dedicated bus lanes. (StreetsBlog Mass)

  • Harvard Art Museums is seeking submissions for an upcoming handbook. Community members can share which piece of art in the Cambridge museum’s collection speaks to them for the chance to write a short reflection for the final printed publication. Fill out the submission form. 🎨
Transit
  • The MBTA shared its new strategy to keep the system safe, which includes reducing employees’ shift hours, limiting overtime to 24 hours a week + working to hire more employees. General Manager Steve Poftak said there are currently no plans to shut down another line completely. (7 News)

  • Ramsay’s Kitchen is now serving breakfast. The eatery located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel offers Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes like homemade monkey bread with cinnamon brioche + toffee sauce.
