Where to ski, snowboard, and tube near Boston

Winter has officially arrived in New England. It’s all downhill until spring arrives, so make the most of it with a visit to one of these five ski areas less than two hours from Boston to inspire your next snowy adventure.

🏔️ Blue Hills Ski Area, 4001 Washington St., Canton | 45 minutes from Boston
Head to the 60-acre Blue Hills Ski Area for a variety of ski programs designed for all ages and experience levels. The 16 trails are always ready to go with snowmaking preparations, plus explore daily and seasonal ski and snowboard packages all winter long.

🏔️ Nashoba Valley, 79 Powers Rd., Westford | 45 minutes from Boston
Take on all 17 trails on the 50+ acre property, which is also known for 18 snow tubing lanes. There is a separate Playground Park for younger kids and those learning to have their own space. Trails are lit until 10 p.m., daily. Bonus: Save the date for the Vertical Challenge on Friday, Feb. 24.

🏔️ Ski Ward Ski Area, 1000 Main St., Shrewsbury | ~1 hour from Boston
This 45-acre park has nine ski slopes, four lifts, and eight tubing lanes, plus a ski school. If you are new to winter sports, check out the snow school with 100+ instructors offering private, group, and multi-week lessons.

🏔️ Wachusett Mountain, 499 Mountain Rd., Princeton | ~1.5 hours from Boston
The mountain features a 2,006 ft elevation, 27 trails, and eight lifts. Tubing and sledding of any kind are not allowed at Wachusett.

🏔️ Crotched Mountain Resort, 615 Francestown Rd., Bennington, NH | ~1 hour and 45 minutes from Boston
Night skiing is available on all 25 trails until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. There are three separate freestyle terrain parks and Midnight Madness is back for night skiing from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday nights.
