Local coffee shops to work from

As fellow remote workers know, sometimes you need a change of scenery to shake up your routine.

We’re big fans of working from local coffee shops, so we thought we’d share five of our favorite laptop-friendly spots for when we need to get back to the grind.

Cannonball Cafe

This South Boston shop offers all the fuel you need for a productive work session, from breakfast sandwiches to Gracenote coffee. Get comfortable at the community table after you grab a locally named smoothie or one of the monthly astrology drinks.

Cafenation

Located in Brighton Center, this cozy cafe is decorated with plenty of plants to help you find some zen in your work day. Grab a breakfast sandwich or bagel and follow along on Instagram to keep up with the specialty drink menu.

Ula Cafe

This neighborhood bakery in Jamaica Plain offers spacious patio seating for warmer days + unique local art to enhance your virtual meeting backdrop. Plus, caffeine fiends can sign up for the membership program to save on coffee and tea.

Cafe Iterum

Come to this East Boston shop for the aesthetics + natural lighting, and stay for the impressive food menu with beet bowls, ube toast, and spicy noodles. This cafe is just steps away from the Maverick T Station for an easy commute back home.

Cafe Beatrice

Head to Cambridge Crossing to focus up at this sleek cafe run by a local pastry chef. When the working day is done, celebrate with dinner next door at Gepetto, or grab a glass of wine right from the cafe.

Of course, there are great options in Back Bay and Downtown Boston too — we love Ogawa Coffee, Trident, and Render Coffee.

What are your favorite coffee shops for remote working?

We’re always looking for more spots to work and caffeinate.

The Friends of the Public Garden are feeling the love this February, and they’ve been kind enough to share it with the whole community.

Stop by the Boston Public Garden — aka America’s first public botanical garden — to see #LOVEInTheParks, a variety of tree and bench plaques dedicated to local loved ones. After all, the Public Garden is one of the most popular engagement spots in Boston.

The organization will be posting these signs throughout the week on its social media channels, so stay tuned to see the stories of couples, family members + friends who have spread love in our city.

While we’re sharing the romance, we’d love to hear even more local love stories. Let us know if you met your sweetheart here, or feel free to share a special spot in Boston that gives you all the heart eyes.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Sara.

Editor’s pick: If you’re looking for another local way to feel the love today, I suggest a stroll through the “Tunnel of Love” at Columbus Park. The decorated trellis is the perfect spot for a photo opp, not to mention it’s conveniently located near all those sweet treats in the North End. ♥️
