Boston’s 12-day design festival kicks off today. This year’s theme? “Design for Tomorrow, Today.”

There are 80+ in-person and virtual events for experienced designers and novices alike — here are a handful of ways to get involved.

🎨 Check out a museum exhibition

From “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence” at the MFA to “Jace Clayton: They Are Part” at the MassArt Art Museum, there’s no shortage of ongoing exhibitions to explore throughout the week.

🎨 Take a self-guided tour

Event organizers recommend setting out for a public art walk in the Seaport, viewing the myriad of murals at Underground at Ink Block, or visiting “The Embrace” on Boston Common.

🎨 Choose an event from the calendar

Last but not least, reference the events schedule for an array of festivities, including a free discussion on antiques at SoWa and an interactive workshop + walking tour at the “Of Many Minds” exhibit in Charlestown.
