Small Business Week is here, and we’re gearing up to spread the local love.
We’ve chatted with some Boston small businesses to celebrate the folks who make up the backbone of our local economy. And now, we are sharing those conversations.
First on our list is Global Arts Live, located at 720 Massachusetts Ave. This local nonprofit has been in Boston since 1990, repping a crew of 12 dedicated members.
Q: How would you describe your business?
A: Global Arts Live is a nonprofit concert promoter that presents international music and dance at venues across greater Boston. We believe music knows no borders, and our concerts reflect that belief.
Q: When someone visits your small business for the first time, the one thing they have to do, see, or try is _____.
A: Discover something new!
Q: What’s unique about the small business scene in Boston?
A: It’s entrepreneurial. In the arts community that we belong to, it’s also very supportive.
Q: What’s another local business folks should know about?
A: Somerville Theatre! The Somerville Theatre is a great movie house, but also hosts live music (some from Global Arts Live) in the main theatre and has a club space upstairs, Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre, that also hosts great events.
