Get ready for a cat lover’s dream.

Boston is now one step closer to having a cat cafewe’re not even kitten.

The Beacon Hill Civic Association’s Zoning Board of Appeal approved plans for the cafe portion of A Sanctuary Cafe , a Charles Street business proposed by local feline behavior volunteer Julie Nicolazzo.

What exactly is planned for the two-floor space? There would be a total of 10 resident cats, locally sourced coffee, and even a micro bookstore where every book purchase leads to a donation for a BPS student.

To spend quality time with the felines, customers would book an appointment + pay to hang with one of the store’s furry friends.

If all goes according to plan and the business receives approval from the Boston Licensing Board, the cafe will open in spring 2023.
