Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage hits the road

The Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage performances are heading to a neighborhood near you.

The company will bring free opera performances to Boston and Charlestown in the summer months using a 26-ft-long semi-trailer converted to a mobile theater. Bring a chair, blanket, beverage, and picnic to get cozy while you stay active and engaged in the community.

Street Stage Season Opener at the Rose Kennedy Greenway | Saturday, June 1 (rain date of June 2) | 3 p.m. | Rowes Wharf Plaza, Atlantic at High Street | Along with opera and arias, preview the upcoming 2024/2025 BLO season. Street Stage Returns to the South End’s Villa Victoria | Thursday, June 13 | 4:30 p.m. | Plaza Betances, IBA’s Villa Victoria, 100 W. Dedham St. | Celebrate the area’s cultural heritage with a family-friendly presentation of Spanish-language arias and poetry by youth program members and local residents.
