“Dear Summer Vol. 1" is the perfect soundtrack for summer in the city.

This is music to our ears — Mayor Wu and the City’s Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment Office are pumping up the summer jams with the inaugural release of “Dear Summer Vol. 1.”

The city’s first ever mixtape features 68 songs + mixes from 17 artists and six DJs from the Greater Boston area to celebrate the vibrancy of Boston’s communities. The playlist includes various genres, including hip-hop, R&B, rock, blues, and dance music. Each of these styles have impacted Boston’s cultural legacy over the years.

This new annual collaboration aims to build awareness of local talent, connect residents to their neighborhoods, and celebrate summer.

The mixtape is available to stream on Spotify, Soundcloud, and mixcloud platforms + a 17-song playlist can be found here.
