Outdoor, open air options

The Layover at Cunard Tavern, 24 Orleans St.
East Boston and sunset views go hand in hand, so take it up to the rooftop of Cunard Tavern for tropical vibes, skyline views, and bar snacks. The Layover is open for the summer on Thursday from 5-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4-11 p.m., and Sunday from 12-7 p.m. This patio is first come, first serve so get there early to secure a spot.

Harborside new rooftop deck
Feast on classic New England fare with a side of waterfront views. This third floor rooftop offers year-round access with a retractable roof open for a shady summer — plus, glass walls and a fireplace for the winter.

Head up to the 51st floor to experience this indoor-outdoor rooftop cocktail lounge and restaurant at the Prudential Center. This is the highest outdoor bar in Boston and requires a ticket to View Boston to enter.
