Start planning that outdoorsy vacation now. The National Park Service is offering free admission to all parks and associated sites for six days in 2024.

The selected dates are:

• Monday, Jan. 15: Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
• Saturday, April 20: First day of National Park Week
• Wednesday, June 19: Juneteenth National Independence Day
• Sunday, Aug. 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
• Saturday, Sept. 28: National Public Lands Day
• Monday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day

While many NPS locations in Massachusetts already do not have entrance fees, these dates offer an ideal occasion to visit sites like the Adams National Historical Park in Quincy (usually $15), Lowell’s Boott Cotton Mills Museum (usually $3-6), and the Cape Cod National Seashore (usually $15-25).

Bonus: Flex your muscle on a nearby trail from our local hiking guide.
