Move over, ice sculpting and pumpkin carving. It’s summer in Boston, and that only means one thing: sand sculpting.
This weekend, 15 talented, professional sculptors will craft giant sand structures at Revere Beach. Sort of like the sand castle you made on the beach as a kid — only much more impressive, and with $28,000 in prizes at stake.

🗓️ The deets
- When: Friday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Where: Revere Beach
- Cost: Free admission
The Firework spectacular will be synced up to music, with fireworks visible throughout the Boston Metro area.

🎆 The highlights
- Catch a 30-minute fireworks show on the beach. Note: This event has been rescheduled from Saturday night to Sunday, July 30 at 9 p.m.
- Starting at 1 p.m. daily, The Samuel Adams Beer Garden will have live entertainment, games, and drinks for purchase for those 21+.
- Entertainment all weekend long includes 20 acts of street performers, fitness classes, and live music, including Blue Man Group on Friday night at 7 p.m. See the full schedule .
- Shop from small businesses at The Beach Shop Pavilion, and grab grub from vendors, including Eloti, Ginger Love Cafe, C Bao Asian buns, Cousins Maine Lobster, and Ben & Jerry’s.
🏖️ The sculpting
- This year’s theme is “Celebrating 90 Years of Kong” — so expect a centerpiece sculpture depicting a King Kong battle.
- Catch the opening ceremonies Friday at 6:30 p.m. and an awards ceremony Saturday at 6 p.m., both on King Kong Stage.
