Get a taste of Boston as a flavor of ice cream

From matcha to maple syrup, here are what ice cream flavors you said best describe our city.

Recently, we asked you to come up with a unique ice cream flavor that describes Boston and utilizes one to three locally sourced ingredients. After reading all of your responses, it’s safe to say that our mouths are watering. Here were two of our favorites:

Matcha green tea ice cream with chocolate chips in a Modern Pastry cannoli cone. Called “Matcha Green Tea Party.” - Christy S.

Baked Bean Cream — vanilla with brown sugar, maple, and smoky bacon essence — topped with crumbled local maple sugar cookie, a few Boston Baked Beans, and crispy bacon chunks. Called “Beanpot Creme.” - Jow M.

The only thing we need now is a local ice cream shop to make one of these flavors a reality. Gracie’s Ice Cream, Toscanini’s Ice Cream, Emack & Bolio’swe’re looking at you.
