As the Masters Tournament tees off today in Augusta, here’s where you can find the par-tee and hit the greens locally.
The City of Boston owns and operates the William J. Devine Golf Course in Dorchester + the George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park. Both courses offer 18 holes and have carts available to rent starting at $20.
The Dorchester course at Franklin Park is the second-oldest public golf course in the US and part of the Emerald Necklace. The course is open year-round and has an outdoor patio with chairs, tables, and umbrellas + seating for up to 100 people.
The George Wright Golf Course was founded in 1938 and is open seven days a week through November. George Wright was a Hall of Fame baseball player who played for the Cincinnati and Boston Red Stockings in the 1800s.
