We all know winter can be brutal here in Boston, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy fresh-air dining. There are tons of restaurants around town with heated outdoor patios and other creative setups to keep the open-air vibe alive — even with low temperatures.

📍 The Bowery Bar

Switch up your regular dining routine by dining in a yurtyes, a yurt. You’ll need to reserve your dining time in advance. There is an eight person maximum as well as a food and beverage minimum, with the cost depending on the time and day you choose.

If you stop by for brunch, don’t skip the selection of unique cocktails like the adult iced coffee with vanilla vodka, hazelnut liquor, iced coffee + whipped cream.

📍 Harvest

Stop by Harvard Square to enjoy seasonal New England dishes at the partially covered patio with a fireplace + heat lamps.

Plus, plan ahead for the restaurant’s annual Ice Party on Sunday, Feb. 26, featuring ice luge cocktails and après-ski vibes.

📍 Lookout Rooftop at the Envoy Hotel

Home to the most coveted heated igloos in the city, Lookout Rooftop is a must-visit this winter. The hotel also offers enclosed ice boxes with unbeatable views of the waterfront.

Each igloo has room for up to six people to sip house-made craft cocktails, microbrews, and wines. Be sure to reserve your igloo in advance.

📍 Remnant Brewing

This brewery at Somerville’s Bow Market offers reservations at three large fire pits in the courtyard, with blankets available for extra warmth. There is a $5 charge per person for fire table parties of four to 10 people.

In addition to a tap list, Remnant has a full espresso bar available one hour before closing, seven days a week.

Thanks to the creation of a new nonprofit organization, Harvard Square will continue to provide performance spaces for local dancers, musicians + other creatives.

Arrow Street Arts, a nonprofit founded by Cambridge arts advocate David Altshuler, announced plans last week to add two new performance venues in the former location of the American Repertory Theater’s Oberon. ICYMI, the ART is moving to a new location in Allston.

Plans for the Arrow Street spaces include a black box theater, expected to fit 300 guests, and a smaller studio that will fit ~100 people.

The multi-use art spaces, which will also become the new home of Cambridge-based theater company Moonbox Productions, are expected to open in the second half of this year.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Sara.

Editor’s pick: Sometimes the Boston accent just slips out, and that is definitely true in the case of one local TV reporter.

I personally think that more broadcasters should take a page out of Ellen Fleming’s book and say “New Hampshah.”
