Boxes at the Boston Fish Pier is making waves this summer
Find the Boxes pop-up at the Boston Fish Pier this summer. | Photo by @___emma__rose__
This summer pop-up is reel-y exciting. Industrial containers have been outfitted to host the Boxes at the Boston Fish Pier on Northern Avenue this summer. This installation is designed to entertain, educate, and connect the community to South Boston’s waterfront.
The main container is making a splash with a mural and educational panels highlighting information about Fish Pier and the local seafood industry.
There will be weekly seafood markets featuring a rotation of Fish Pier tenants. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with the experts + learn more about the people behind New England’s signature cuisine.
The Boxes are also welcoming nonprofits to support educational events about aquatic ecosystems, sustainability, climate change, and the Boston Harbor Islands.
Plan ahead for seafood food truck nights in the parking lot. They’ll serve up dishes supplementing the options from the vendors in the Boxes.
I’m excited to check out the D&D Beer Garden on City Hall Plaza. This year’s pop-up is hosted by Roslindale’s Distraction Brewing Company and downtown’s Democracy Brewing. Stop by daily for 12 local brews, food from Jimmies Cafe (read: sandwiches and empanadas), and frozen “Maltinis” available in two flavors: Lavender Lemonade + Tajin Pineapple Whip. Cheers to that.
