Kids, this is the story of how I met your mother, and it was all thanks to BOStoday.
Ok, so maybe that’s not exactly how the 2000s sitcom went, but if Ted Mosby had consulted us for date night ideas, we could’ve shaved the show down to two seasons (and saved his kids a lot of time). Regardless, whether you’ve met “the one” or are hoping to impress someone new, we’ve got 25+ local date night ideas that are legen — wait for it — dary.
For the ones who want a night out on the town
Take in the views at the View Boston observation deck and grab drinks at the Stratus rooftop bar.
Have a few laughs together at a comedy venue like Improv Asylum or Laugh Boston.
Listen to live music from a local jazz bar like the historic Wally’s Cafe, The Beehive, or Grace by Nia.
Seating at the Status Lounge is first come, first served.

Here’s what to know about kicking it with the Revs. | Photo by BOStoday
Calling all local sports buffs. Travel just ~20 miles south of Boston to cheer on Greater Boston’s Major League Soccer team this season.
City Editor Sara here, and I recently attended a New England Revolution match at Gillette Stadium with 36,000+ fellow soccer fans. Here’s what the experience was like and how you can Try This.
What we tried:
I spent a Saturday in Foxborough taking in the energy during the Revs (winning) match against Inter Miami.
Thanks to my parking pass — which Revolution season members get access to — getting into the East Lot was a breeze. Read: I had plenty of time before the match to tailgate with fellow Revs supporters.
Pro tip: For those without a car, you can easily get to Foxborough via the MBTA Commuter Rail.
