Tokava, 7 Pond St. | This Jamaica Plain cafe serves a variety of homemade lattes and espresso drinks with small batch syrups.

Flat Black Coffee Company, 1170 Washington St. | Head to Dorchester to try this local roastery in the Lower Mills neighborhood, which has won multiple awards for its espresso.

Vester Cafe, Multiple locations | Inspired by the Danish tradition of simplicity, the cafe’s Cambridge and South Boston locations serve eye-catching specials, including lattes, iced teas, and spritzes.

The keynote speakers for this year’s Boston Book Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14 have been announced. Bookworms can expect to hear from author and historian Heather Cox Richardson, young adult novelist Chloe Gong, and Rick Riordan, the creator of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” (Boston Globe)

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will host Wednesday evening concerts on the patios of the George Wright Golf Course Clubhouse in Hyde Park + William Devine Golf Course Clubhouse in Dorchester this July and August. Learn more about the live music series.
Outdoors
Mayor Wu and city officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday for the re-opened Jeep Jones Park in Roxbury. The 1.7-acre park, named after Clarence “Jeep” Jones, has been upgraded with a new play area and a renovated upper terrace playground.
Biz
The Massachusetts-based Christmas Tree Shops plans to liquidate all stores after declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The home decor retailer was founded on Cape Cod + currently has 15 Bay State locations. (Boston Business Journal)

Tiny Turns Paperie will host free weekly crafting events at Remnant Brewing in Bow Market starting this weekend. The Sunday craft sessions will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. with dedicated nights for bullet journaling, fiber projects, and sampling supplies (think: ink pads and stamps).
