As we all begin to emerge from winter hibernation, we’re on the hunt for new eats and places to visit around the city. Here are a few new or coming soon restaurants to check out in March.
Yume Ga Arukara is opening a second location in the Seaport this week. Slurp down dishes like udon at communal tables in the Porter Exchange in Cambridge or pop over to the new location in the Superette.
Baleia, which means whale, is a Portuguese-inspired eatery at 264 E. Berkeley St. that will be focused heavy on seafood, like cataplana (read: a seafood stew) or sardines. The restaurant opens on Wednesday, March 6, so make your reservations now.
Citrus & Salt is moving from Back Bay to Fort Point in the former Oak & Rowan space at 319 A St. When the new location opens in March, guests can expect more raw bar dishes + late-night tacos.
Bow Market resident Bluefin is expanding to Jamaica Plain on Centre Street. Customers can order seafood dishes like oysters and lobster rolls, then shop at the fresh fish market — now with more space.
Fans of The Quiet Few rejoice, there is a new tavern coming to South Boston. Small Victories will open in March and focus on whiskey and American pub fare.
Bonus: Life Alive Organic Cafe will open its 11th location this summer at the corner of South Huntington Avenue + Moraine Street. The 75-seat restaurant will feature the former bar’s reclaimed hardwood flooring and garage doors that lead out to the patio.

The City of Salem and Crowley Wind Services agreed to a Community Benefits Agreement worth ~$9 million for a Wind Terminal Project. The development of the Salem Offshore Wind Terminal on Salem’s port will support a public-private partnership + the growth of renewable, offshore wind energy.

Grammy Award-winning 21 Savage will make a stop at the Xfinity Center on Friday, May 31. Tickets to see the American Dream Tour go on sale on Friday, March 1.

Mudflat and East Somerville Main Streets are looking for a muralist to paint a 20-by-13-ft mural for the left side of the building at 81 Broadway. Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 22.

The 2024 Red Sox Scholars Application is now open to eligible 7th grade students. This college success program awards a $10,000 scholarship to 12 Boston Public School 7th-graders each year. Apply by Thursday, Feb. 29.

Did you know Boston has a professional flag football team? The American Flag Football League is getting ready to kick off its inaugural season in April and now we have a first look at the 2024 team uniforms.
Where will the Boston Brigade play?
Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy. There will be two home games this year on May 11 against Nashville and June 1 against Dallas. Tickets start at $14.
There are four teams participating this year:
• Boston Brigade
• Dallas Ocelots
• Las Vegas Lucky Sevens
• Nashville Nighthawks
The AFFL was founded in 2016 to grow the game of flag football. See the first game on April 27 when Los Vegas takes on Dallas.
