When it comes to sports, Boston has no shortage of teams to support. Our city is home to some of the most loyal fans in the country and some history makers.

This women’s history month, let’s cheer on the local women’s teams that are currently making history in our city.

🏒 Boston (Professional Women’s Hockey League) | Est. 2023
Boston was selected as one of six teams in the debut season of the first-of-its-kind women’s ice hockey league.

Where they play: Tsongas Center, Lowell

Team colors: Black, green, and white
  • The inaugural season began in January 2024. The regular season, which is anticipated to end in June 2024, will be followed by a playoffs and final format.

    • The BPDA board approved a 23-story tower for Northeastern University that will house 1,370 students. The tower will be located on the Northeastern campus at Columbus Avenue and across from the Ruggles MBTA station. (Boston Business Journal)

    • The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is hiring lifeguards, swim instructors, and other water safety positions for this summer. Positions are available at 81 swimming areas across the state, which are expected to open during Memorial Day weekend. (WCVB 5)

    • Wicked Queer has announced the films for the Wicked Queer: 40 Film Festival, which will take place Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 14. Opening night features screenings at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Brattle Theatre. View the full schedule.
