This new facility is a big dill. Boston Pickle Club is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, April 27 at 5 p.m. to celebrate the new indoor pickleball facility in Hyde Park, located at 91 Sprague St.

The new 20,000-sqft pickleball building is outfitted with seven indoor courts, featuring state-of-the-art lighting and court surfaces, a lounge, merchandise shop, and interactive dink walls. Plus, brand new locker rooms with keyless lockers and showers, and court streaming capabilities.

The courts are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pro tip: They accept drop-ins to get their dinks in, but keep in mind that reservations will always take priority.

  • City hall veteran Brian Swett has been appointed as Boston’s first-ever chief climate officer. This role will lead the Environment, Energy and Open Space cabinet, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Office of Historic Preservation, and the Office of Food Justice. (WBUR)

  • The Bruins have entered their playoff era. First up in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs — the Maple Leafs. The B’s will have home-ice advantage in the best-of-seven series. During the regular season, Boston and Toronto played four times with the Bruins winning all four games. (NHL)

  • Speaking of the Bruins — the voice of the Bruins, broadcaster Jack Edwards, announced he will retire after this NHL season. Edwards has been calling Bruins games for 19 seasons and has had a 45-year career in sports journalism. (Boston.com)

  • $910,000. That’s the median price of a single-family home in Greater Boston, according to the Greater Boston Association of Realtors. This is a more than 9% increase over the same month last year, setting a new March record. (Boston Globe)

  • Waltham-based Boston Dynamics announced it will retire its humanoid robot Atlas. The robot was first created in 2013 as contest for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and over the years we’ve seen it doing backflips, running, and dancing. (WCVB 5)
