Boston Public Schools (BPS) received a $35 million federal grant to buy 125 electric school buses to add to the district’s 40 existing ones. The zero-emission, 30-passenger buses will help BPS accelerate its goal to have a fully electric school bus fleet by 2030.
Development
City leaders approved six new affordable housing developments in Allston, Brighton, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and Roxbury. In all, the projects will create 577 residential units, including 251 that are income-restricted. The city said the developments will also generate 749 construction jobs and 50 permanent local jobs.

Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House — a Japanese hot pot restaurant with locations in California, Las Vegas, and New York — has landed in Boston’s Chinatown. Winteractive — Downtown Boston Alliance’s free, walkable outdoor art experience — is back with 15+ engaging art installations on display along downtown’s streets through Sunday, March 30.
