School may be (almost) out for summer, but Mayor Wu and Superintendent Mary Skipper have big plans for Boston’s high schools.

A proposal shared yesterday outlines major changes to select Boston Public Schools. Here’s what the plan includes.

✏️ Splitting the O’Bryant School of Math and Science from Madison Park Technical Vocational High School to expand both campuses.

  • The O’Bryant School would move to a larger facility ~eight miles away in West Roxbury. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.
  • Madison Park High School would be renovated, with space to double enrollment.

✏️ Establishing a new partnership with Charlestown High School and Bunker Hill Community College to allow students to complete college courses.

✏️ Adding new grades to Margarita Muñiz Academy, Jamaica Plain’s dual language high school.

In this year’s fiscal budget, Mayor Wu has designated $18 million for the work at the West Roxbury complex and $45 million for the Madison Park campus.
