After 24 years, nine Super Bowls, and six Lombardi trophies, Bill Belichick’s time with the New England Patriots has come to an end.

“I will always be a Patriot, but at this time, I’m moving on,” Belichick shared during a press conference, expressing his appreciation for the Patriots’ steadfast fans and the 1,000+ players he’s coached during the 24-year run.

Some of Belichick’s accomplishments with the Pats include 333 career victories, nine AFC Championship victories, and six Super Bowl wins.

“Coach Belichick will forever be celebrated as a legendary sports icon here in New England,” added Patriots CEO Robert Kraft, going on to call him the “greatest coach of all time.”

Jerod Mayo — once a Patriots linebacker for eight seasons — will now serve as the team’s head coach. Mayo has also worked with the team as assistant coach since 2019, mainly coaching linebackers.
