We caught up with New England Revolution Goalkeeper Djordje Petrović to see who he’s cheering for in the World Cup and what his plans are for the offseason.

Q: What are you most looking forward to during the Major League Soccer offseason?

A: Outside of off-season training and continuing to prepare for next year, I’m really looking forward to spending time with my family and friends. This was my first year living in Boston and the US. I grew up in a small town in Serbia, and before arriving here in May, I had never spent this much time away from them. I am happy to be back in Serbia for a few weeks.

Q: What is it like playing with Bruce Arena?

A: Bruce Arena is a legendary coach. It is truly an honor and a privilege to play for a coach like him. When I heard he was interested in bringing me to New England, it made it a very easy decision. I’m excited to continue learning from Bruce and the staff every day.

Q: Who are rooting for in the World Cup?

A: Serbia, of course. We are a smaller country, but I think they have everything they need to put together some good results this year and make some noise in the World Cup. They are my team, but I will be watching almost every game.

Q: How does training change in the offseason?

A: The biggest difference is that I get more rest in the offseason in between training sessions so I can recharge. I’m always continuing to work hard to prepare for the next season because staying in shape and exercising makes me feel better.

Keep reading to hear more from Djordje, plus how to get the perfect gift for the biggest Revs fan in your life.*

Dishing the details of our state berry

Whether you can’t wait to crack open a can of the sweet side or you’d pass on the berry goodness this Thanksgiving, we have Massachusetts to thank for the cranberries.

Did you know that cranberries are the Bay State’s second largest agricultural commodity? Local growers produce about a quarter of the cranberries for the US, which is worth approximately $60 million.

The state’s cranberry farming dates back the mid-1800s on Cape Cod. Today, Massachusetts ranks second in the nation in cranberry production with more than 14,000 acres of berry operations.

Most of that property is owned and operated by Ocean Spray. The cranberry company is headquartered in the South Shore in Middleborough.
