The end of a Bruins era, again

Okay, it’s time to check in on the Bruins fans.

Boston is losing another hockey great with the announcement that David Krejci will retire after 15 seasons. Yes, we said another because this news comes just a few weeks after captain Patrice Bergeron announced that he’s retiring.

Here are a few stats to remember this legendary Bruins player:
  • Krejci was a second round pick by the Bruins in the 2004 NHL Draft.
  • No. 46 helped bring home the Stanley Cup in 2011, scoring 23 points in 25 games.
  • He played his entire NHL career in black and gold, ranking fifth on the Bruins’ all-time games played list with 1,032.
  • He is also fifth in team history with 555 assists.
  • He played one season in the Czech Republic before returning to the Bruins for their record-breaking season.
Needless to say, there are some big skates to fill on the team this season.
