The Green Line is shutting down between Lechmere Station and Union Square, starting Monday, Sept. 18. T riders should take the bus since there won’t be a shuttle bus service. At least the closure will be shorter than initially planned — 25 days instead of 42. (Boston Globe)

See the completed Sumner Tunnel after its closure for eight weeks. It is expected to reopen by Friday morning. Look forward to improved lighting + drainage during your weekend travels. (WCVB)

A new family-owned Israeli eatery — Asaro Bakery and Cafe — is coming to 1629 Cambridge St. (taking over the Darwin’s space). The menu may include breakfast + lunch items like avocado toast, sandwiches, and fresh challah on Fridays. (Boston Restaurant Talk)
Civic
Applications are now open for the Rapid Rehousing program, a grant designed to help nonprofits meet the housing needs of those being released from correctional facilities. Organizations must apply by Wednesday, Oct. 25.
Tech
Harvard physicist Avi Loeb may have proof of ancient aliens. Loeb’s expedition team, the Galileo Project, concludes that metallic orbs from a meteor crash site have interstellar origins. Whether or not those orbs are evidence of alien tech is still up for debate... but we want to believe.(WFXT)

Prithee, hast thou been to King Richard’s Faire? The largest Renaissance faire in New England kicks off Saturday, Sept. 2 at 235 Main St. in Carver.
Know before ye go
King Richard’s Faire runs from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends until Sunday, Oct. 22.
Entry ticket prices vary by day. Pro tip: Purchase entry tickets in advance online.
Cash is king. Games + rides are cash-only and food requires food tickets (available for purchase with cash at four kiosks). Check out the menu.
The merriment
In addition to classic favorites like the tournament field, there will be new entertainment this year. Revel with new musical acts — the Rowdy Bardlings band + Pict’s Pipers — and make merry with comedian Jim Mackenzie.
The Washing Well Wench show returns... with new wenches. Help cousins Tansy and Pippa with their laundry on the Twin Tavern Stage.
ICYMI, the Green Line shutdown comes amidst other disruptions to the subway’s Red, Green, and Orange lines — including closures on the Red Line for 16 days in October.
