With the final first round pick in the NBA Draft, the Celtics chose Creighton wing Baylor Scheierman. Scheierman is the first player in Division I men’s basketball history with at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 three-pointers. (Boston.com)
Community
Today at 4 p.m., the City of Boston will host a send-off event for the English High School baseball team as they head to Fenway Park to be honored by the Red Sox. The team is the first in Boston to win a State Championship in baseball.

A new set of stairs in Seaport connecting Congress and Summer streets is now open. The “Summer Street Steps” make up the southern end of a pedestrian walkway in the works called Harbor Way. (Boston Business Journal)

In honor of Disability Pride Month, the Boston Public Library will feature its first-ever “Disabled, Not Unable” booklist. The library will also host several Disability Pride Month events throughout July.

Be on the lookout — The MBTA recently added huge googly eyes to some of its trains (five across the Green Line + commuter rail) in an effort to make Boston’s public transit system more fun. (Boston.com)

What to expect
This festival has more than its musical lineup. You can also check out an art exhibition + a vendor village with local Black-owned businesses from Black Owned Bos.
Attendants can learn Afro-diasporic dance styles, head to “Soul Food Row” for trucks dishing out international fare, and younger guests can check out the Kidchella activities.
