Not only do farmers’ markets provide a space to purchase the freshest of the fresh, locally-grown seasonal produce (think: fruit, veggies + dairy products), but they also provide a community-centered space for Bostonians to connect with food + the folks who grow it.

What we tried (with pricing):
I took a trip over to Cambridge to shop at the Central Square Farmers Market on Monday afternoon — which just so happened to coincide with Farmers’ Market Week. The market is free to explore, and super organized with plenty of vendors connecting food, agriculture + environmental policy to the communities they serve.
While visiting the market, my connections to the community only grew deeper with every conversation. While shopping, I met the market planners, local growers, and community members, so you get to know where your food comes from + who helped bring it to the neighborhood.
What not to miss:
In addition to farm fresh produce, you can also find over two dozen Massachusetts farmers and food producers with baked goods, honey, ready-to-eat meals, and other locally made products.
