More Than Words is becoming more than a local bookstore and advocacy organization. The nonprofit is adding four wheels to the team and launching a mobile bookstore to hit the road this summer.
The truck has been outfitted to hold up to 2,000 books and will travel to schools, parades, and other community events. The cozy interior measures ~130 sqft and can accommodate four adult shoppers comfortably, with a maximum of eight at one time. The truck uses solar panels to provide lighting, air conditioning + heating.
The mobile bookstore schedule will be available on the events calendar and plans to kick off the service with Roxbury Community Week at the beginning of June.
Interested in bringing this pop-up bookshop to your neighborhood? The shop is booking festivals, private parties, and corporate events now.
No need to wait to add to your to-be-read pile. Visit the brick-and-mortar locations of More Than Words to support the mission to provide job training and empowerment at the youth-run businesses in Boston.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got, are we right? This Saturday, May 20, will mark 30 years since the last episode of the TV show “Cheers” aired. The sitcom about a local bar where everybody knows your name ran a total of 275 episodes. Here are a few fast facts about the Beacon Hill bar that inspired it all.
The real-life Cheers location was established in 1969 and was formerly known as the Bull & Finch Pub.
The show filmed on location in Boston twice. The final shot in the series finale, which airedMay 20, 1993, depicts many members of the cast celebrating at the Beacon Street bar.
“Cheers” fans can play trivia on the bar’s website and visit at 84 Beacon St.
I know we are all still hyped from the big Celtics win on Sunday. Turns out we aren’t the only ones congratulating Jayson Tatum on his record-breaking performance. Comedian and 76ers fan Kevin Hart took to Instagram to give him props and shout out the hard work that paid off with the win. Fair warning: Kevin’s a little salty about the loss, and you can tell with a few choice words.
We’re all proud of Jayson and the Celtics + can’t wait to cheer them on against the Miami Heat this week.
