Here’s your reminder to schedule that next group hang (or family outing, or date night). Live Music on the Lawn kicks off Friday, Aug. 11 from 6-9 p.m. at the Christian Science Plaza in the heart of Back Bay (210 Massachusetts Ave.), with the second installment of the free concert series happening Friday, Sept. 8.
Jam to a variety of music styles like Afro-Caribbean, traditional Celtic, Venezuelan fusion, and covers of top hits — then grab a bite to eat at a local food truck. Here’s the lineup:

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will host the 114th annual convention in Boston for the next seven days.
The NAACP Convention is an immersive experience held each year to celebrate the community’s collective power and exchange ideas. This year’s theme is “thriving together” and here’s what you need to know to make the most of the convention.
