With opening dates for these markets just around the corner, we’re sharing what you need to know before you grab your totes and get to shopping.

Boston’s Professional Women’s Hockey League team has advanced to the championship series for the inaugural Walter Cup after eliminating Montreal, 3-2. Next up: the team will play the winner of the Toronto-Minnesota semifinal.

The 2024-2025 New England Patriots schedule is official. The Pats will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in London during week seven and fans can plan for eight more home games, including the Bills, Jets, and Seahawks.

Cambridge is celebrating 20 years of marriage equality this weekend with a photography exhibition and live music on Friday, May 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Then, a special event at City Hall on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Marcia Hams and Susan Shepard, the first couple to receive a same-sex marriage license.

John Hancock has teamed up with the MIT AgeLab for a five-year, multimillion-dollar research collaboration called the “longevity economy.” The first-of-its-kind longevity preparedness index will provide insights on financial planning, health and wellness habits + work and retirement transition planning. Boston’s only public rooftop pool opens for the season

It’s almost time to take a refreshing dip 12 stories above Back Bay.
Boston’s only rooftop pool with public access opens for the 2024 season on Friday, May 24. RTP at The Colonnade Hotel will be open to non-hotel guests Mondays through Thursdays, plus Sundays after 1 p.m., for a $55 fee. Keep in mind: The pool is 21+ after 5 p.m.
Relax in a chaise lounge or rent a private cabana. Complimentary ice water and towels are included for all guests. Bonus: There are also free sunscreen dispensers, courtesy of Impact Melanoma.
The poolside food menu features shareable apps, flatbreads, and a variety of sandwiches. There are also lobster rolls for the perfect summer bite. Plus, sip drinks like the “Rooftop Buzz” or a frosé.
