Save the date: First annual City of Belonging festival

This month, Mayor Wu and city of Boston officials will celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month with the first annual City of Belonging festival.
The first citywide celebration will feature 50+ community-led events to shine a light on global art and culture through music, dance, performance, and community-building.
This initiative will kick off the work from the leadership of the immigrant community at the 1st Annual Immigrant Advancement Forum, scheduled this fall 2024, and will lead to Boston becoming a Welcoming Certified city in 2025.
Beyond the festival, city officials will partner with over 30 diverse organizations to host free events for residents throughout the month of June. Events include:

The City of Belonging festival will conclude with “Belong in Boston,” a special Sofar Sounds concert featuring global acts on Saturday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. in downtown. Stay tuned for more details about the venue and performers closer to the date.

The annual Mayor’s Garden Contest is now open. The community contest recognizes gardeners who have landscaped + planted flowers, vegetables, trees, and shrubs. Submit your entries by Wednesday, July 10.
Closing
The Beacon Hill location of Savenor’s Butcher Shop is closing after the space was acquired by Wulf’s Fish. The store will close its doors on Saturday, June 22. (Boston.com)

Development
The BPDA approved the Net Zero Carbon Zoning initiative and multiple new construction projects. The four new development projects and one renovation of a current building will create 420 residential units + 232 are designated income-restricted.
Travel
Frontier Airlines announced the low-cost airline will add nonstop service from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas this summer. These new additions will bring eight total destinations from Boston including Orlando, Philadelphia, San Juan, Raleigh, and Cincinnati. (WCVB 5)

Today is June 17, aka 617 day, and the Celtics are giving all Bostonians a flashback to the last time they won a championship on June 17, 2008.
In case you missed it, the Celtics blew a 10-game winning streak in their loss to the Mavericks on Friday night. Now, the C’s will be back at TD Garden tonight for Game 5. You may need to see the mascot Lucky the Leprechaun for a pot of gold — tickets start at ~$1,300.
Tonight, the Celtics will have the chance for a repeat NBA Finals win on June 17. Tune in at 8:30 p.m. with a Lord Hobo 617 beer to see if they can bring home Banner No. 18.
