The Presidential Primaries are just around the corner. To help you make a plan for Election Day on Tuesday, March 5, we’re dropping important dates, polling locations, and registration info.
🗓️ Dates to keep in mind
- Voter registration deadline | Saturday, Feb. 24 by 5 p.m. at City Hall, or 11:59 p.m. online
- In-person early voting | Saturday, Feb. 24-Friday, March 1
- Vote-by-mail ballot request ends | Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.
- Accessible ballot request ends | Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.
- In-person Election Day voting | Tuesday, March 5 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (see polling locations )
🗳 Early voting sites in Boston
Boston’s primary early voting site is City Hall. Polls are open:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Plus, Saturday and Sunday at various locations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

✉️ Vote-by-mail deadlines + drop-offs
Ballots must be delivered to the Boston Election Department by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 via one of Boston’s 20 drop boxes
. You can check your ballot’s status with “Track My Ballot
” — if it doesn’t look like yours will make it in time, try to make it to an in-person polling location ASAP.
