There’s no shortage of live music around Boston, and we’ve teamed up with one local venue to give away two tickets to an upcoming show. Before we get to the tickets, here are a few ideas for things to do before you head to a concert at Roadrunner.

Roadrunner is a 3,000 seat venue located at 89 Guest St. There is plenty to check out no matter which direction you are coming from.

Keep it really close

Across the street you can grab a drink and bite at Rail Stop Restaurant, which is designed to resemble an old train stop. Pro tip: try the firecracker shrimp and you won’t be disappointed.

Brato Brewhouse + Kitchen is right around the corner from the venue and offers a variety of locally made brews + eats like grilled cheese sandwiches.

Broken Records Beer Hall is in the same building as Roadrunner, making it the perfect last-minute spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat before showtime.

Arriving from Allston

Allston has so many food + drink options. Grab a bite at Lone Star Taco Bar, a slice at La Befana Pizza, try the vegan options at Grasshopper Restaurant, and satisfy your sweet tooth with a scoop or two from FoMu.

Booking it from Brighton

The Charles River Speedway is a one-stop pre-concert shop. Grab a beer from Notch Brewery, an empanada from Super Bien, create your own hummus bowl or pita, sip on sake from Koji Club, and don’t skip dessert with 100% nut-free ice cream at Tipping Cow.

Now that you’ve got the pre-show plan, here’s how to enter our giveaway for two tickets to an upcoming show.

Head to Instagram and make sure you are following both the Roadrunner + BOStoday accounts, comment on our post with three upcoming shows you’d like to see, and tag the friend you’ll bring along if you win. We will contact the winner on Fri., Sept. 16. Good luck, Boston.

To perform at your mental + physical best every day, proper hydration is key. Unfortunately, most electrolyte drinks are loaded with sugar and artificial ingredients (read: stuff you don’t want in your body).

Enter: LMNT, a drink that replaces essential electrolytes without sugar, coloring, gluten, artificial ingredients or other junk. LMNT tastes great, too — you can even use it as a cocktail mixer. (Hello, weekend hydration.)

$62 million for Logan Airport

This week, President Biden landed in Boston and spoke at Logan Airport about the funding that will be coming to the Bay State. The infrastructure bill will provide $9 billion over five years.

The construction at the local airport is the largest of the 85 national airport projects. Here’s how Logan plans to spend $62 million.

The majority of the funding ($50 million) will be allocated to modernize Terminal E, the airport’s international gate. This upgrade will add 95,000 sqft, update three existing gates + add services to accommodate larger aircrafts.

The airport now serves four times as many passengers as it did when the terminal first opened in 1974. The increase in traffic has caused increased wait times and delays so the upgrades should help alleviate the turbulence.

The remaining $12 million will be used to fix the roadways that planes use to travel across the airport campus.
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by City Editor Jessica.

Editor’s pick: Speaking of Cannonball Cafe, the local coffee shop is getting in the fall mood with the new Fall Toast topped with whipped ricotta, goat cheese, roasted pears, toasted pepitas + hot honey. Pair this seasonal bite with a blended peach cobbler espresso to really get in the spirit. ☕
