Every time we look around, it seems like something new is popping up in Boston. Whether you’re looking for your next go-to brunch destination or a new community space to stretch your legs, we’re rounding up a few things coming soon to our city.

Developments

Allston Yards, 60 Everett St. | Opening in 2024 | This 10.6-acre mixed-use, transit-oriented development will be made up of residential, office, restaurant, fitness, retail, and community space.

South Station Tower, Atlantic Avenue | Opening in 2025 | There will be a 51-story mixed-use glass tower directly above South Station, the busiest transit hub in Boston. The tower will include 711,500 sqft of office space and 166 condo units.

Community

View Boston, 800 Boylston St. | Opening in 2023 | This new sky-high cocktail lounge and open-air roof deck will be located on the 50-52 floors of the Prudential Center. The observation decks will offer guests a bird’s-eye view of the city.

Nubian Market, 2565 Washington St., Roxbury | Opening in 2023 | This open market, cafe, and gathering space will celebrate the African diaspora through food. The team recently held a soft launch of the grocery store while it finalizes the other components of the market.

Dining

Café Gloria, East Boston | Opening fall 2023 | Will Isaza, the bar director for spots like Blossom Bar + Birds of Paradise, is opening a neighborhood coffee bar that will serve coffee, espresso, canned cold brew, and family recipe-inspired snacks.

Caveau, 1-3 Center Plz. | Opening spring 2023 | The team behind local favorites like Yvonne’s, Mariel, and Lolita is opening another elevated restaurant and nightclub experience.

Petula’s, 81 L. St. | Opening spring 2023 | This South Boston gathering spot will open with artisanal pizzas and creative cocktails for dinner, with brunch service coming soon.

Announced
  • Congratulations to all who participated in the 127th Boston Marathon. Evans Chebet won his second straight Boston Marathon, becoming the first back-to-back winner in 15 years. Hellen Obiri won her first professional marathon, finishing at the fourth-fastest winning time in history. Run over to more results. (Boston.com)
Coming Soon
  • STK Steakhouse is reportedly coming soon to the Back Bay. This restaurant will offer date night specials and weekend brunch. The STK Steakhouse chain originally planned to open a location in the Seaport in 2016 — however, the plans fell through that year. (Boston Restaurant Talk)
Stat
  • ~80%. That’s the percentage of the $9.2 billion Capital Investment Plan budget that the MBTA plans to allocate towards “safety and reliability.” The transit proposal includes 500+ improvement projects over the next five years. Public comments will be accepted through Monday, April 24. (Boston Globe)
Award
  • Over the weekend, Red Sox legend and Hall of Famer David Ortiz received the Patriots’ Award from the Boston Athletic Association. “Big Papi,” who served as the Grand Marshal for yesterday’s race, was selected for the local philanthropic award for fostering goodwill and sportsmanship. (WCVB 5)
Plan Ahead
  • The USS Constitution is accepting entries for the annual Fourth of July Underway lottery. Each household is allowed one entry for the chance to go aboard “Old Ironsides” and sail around the Boston Harbor on Independence Day. The lottery ends on Monday, May 1 at 12 a.m. and 150 winners will be notified on Monday, May 15.
Theater
  • The Broadway musical “My Fair Lady” opens tonight at Citizens Bank Opera House at 7:30 p.m. The two hour and 55-minute show will run until Sunday, April 30. Tickets start at $20.
